Columbia Law School has adopted an updated Academic Policy on Student Use of Artificial Intelligence for the 2026–2027 academic year.
We recognize that the technological landscape is rapidly evolving, and we are committed to an iterative and thoughtful process of review and refinement. Moving forward, the Law School will continue to evaluate our progress and update our guidance accordingly.

Incoming 1L students can now view their Fall 2026 class schedules in LawNet. Please log in and select “Check Schedule” to review your assigned courses and class meeting times.

Pre-Orientation Office of University Life Tutorial—Due Friday, August 14
Every student who is new to a degree program at Columbia must complete this required tutorial, which conveys values that are foundational to being a member of the Columbia University community and introduces important University policies and valuable student resources that will help you excel during your time here. You must complete this training before arriving on campus.
This training is an important foundation to your membership in the University community; it reviews the many resources available at Columbia, important policies that shape your daily life on campus, and guidance for living in New York City.

IT Configuration
The IT Helpdesk is available Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., to assist with technical needs including connecting to Wi-Fi, printing, installing antivirus and antimalware software, and more. Virtual support is also available during regular Helpdesk hours including additional after hours.

 Dianisbeth Acquie serves as Dean of the Office of Judicial Careers. She graduated from Harvard College with a degree in English and earned her J.D. from Harvard Law School, where she was a student attorney for two years at the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau, a student-run civil legal aid clinic. After law school, Dianisbeth worked as a litigation associate at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison and clerked for Chief Judge Margo K. Brodie in the Eastern District of New York before joining Columbia Law School. Dianisbeth also serves as Vice-President of the High School Division for the Sonia & Celina Sotomayor Judicial Internship Program. In her spare time, she follows English Premier League football. Dianisbeth is a first-generation lawyer.
Fun Fact: Dianisbeth is named after Diana, Princess of Wales, and Queen Elizabeth II.

Erica Smock ’95 is Dean for the Office of Public Interest/Public Services Law and Careers (PI/PS Office). Erica is a graduate of Columbia Law School, and her career has largely focused on public interest work in the area of gender justice and women's rights. Prior to her role at Columbia Law School, she served as senior director for judicial strategy at Center for Reproductive Rights, where she helped lead a successful U.S. Supreme Court campaign and worked on court strategy for U.S. litigation. With her background, she strives to help Columbia Law students find valuable public interest/public service opportunities at CLS, and find meaningful career pathways for post-graduation.
Fun Fact: Erica grew up in Africa.
